In El Paso, everyone knows at least one Hispanic that is not fluent in Spanish who is labeled and teased for being a “no sabo kid.” These Hispanics cannot fully communicate with the older generations of their family. The communication thread between the two generations can be discouraging and defeated on both sides. Will the older generations give grace to younger generations?

Seasonal depression, also known as “winter blues,” starts creeping in when fall season begins to flourish. How does one deal? Make the feeling of pride take over rather than sulking. If one can peel out of bed, even when the darkness is on top of their chest; that is a serious victory. What's the fun of seasonal depression if you cannot laugh at it in the face the way it does to people? Healing and dealing are not a linear process. Some days are harder than others, but after all, one can try, and maybe right now, that is good enough.
