Fans cheered on their feet as the El Paso Locomotive secured a 2-2 tie in its home opener against the Colorado Spring Switchbacks on March 8.
The Locomotive suffered from a penalty goal from Switchback midfielder Marco Micaletto, two minutes after the game started.
Minutes before the first half of the game ended, Locomotive forward, Amando Moreno, scored the equalizer assisted by midfielder, Frank Daroma, ending the first half, 1-1.
During the first half, the Switchbacks managed to rack up four yellow cards, while the Locomotive only received one.
To start the second half, midfield action was prominent, with both teams looking to raise the score.
By the minute 74, midfielder Jonas Fjeldberg scored Colorado’s second goal, with an assist from midfielder Charlie Adams.
With five minutes added to the game, the Locomotive seized the opportunity as Cabrera scored with assistance from Daniel Carter.
With an optimistic season ahead, the El Paso Locomotive FC is back in pitch at Southwest University Park next weekend as they take on Phoenix Rising FC March 15.
