Max Verstappen continues to lead the Driver’s Championship with 354 points, surpassing the second-place lead, Lando Norris, by 57 points.
The Dutchman has won eight races out of 19 so far, with five races left in the championship. Meanwhile, his teammate Sergio Perez has had a season marked by inconsistency, which has cost him several points that led him to seventh place.
McLaren has firmly established itself as a serious contender for the Constructors Championship, demonstrating impressive improvements and a consistent pace. Both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have made history by winning the first Grand Prix of their careers.Ferrari has had a season of highs and lows, being a direct rival to Red Bull at the beginning of the season, but slowly being surpassed by McLaren as races went by. They had moments of brilliance as Charles Leclerc won the Monaco Grand Prix and currently stands third in the Drivers’ Championship, while Carlos Sainz won the Australian Grand Prix and stands fifth.
Despite a strong start to the season, Mercedes has struggled with inconsistency and performance issues. They have been surpassed by Ferrari and McLaren in midfield, mainly due to their lack of stability and in-racing pace.
Currently, they are in fourth place in the Constructors Championship, with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in sixth and seventh place in the Drivers’ Championship.
This season has also seen two driver substitutions due to underwhelming performance. At Visa Cash App RB (VCARBAlphaTauri) Daniel Ricciardo was replaced by Liam Lawson for the last six races of the season. Meanwhile, Williams Logan Sargeant was substituted by Franco Colapinto.
