One of the most important responsibilities a student has is to study, but what if you don’t have a good place to do it?
UTEP has quiet and calm spaces available, perfect for studying.
UTEP offers some main study areas like the library and the union which are good to eat and do work on computers. A potential drawback is that these areas have larger crowds and a lot of noise.
Some areas in UTEP are quiet and are a good place to study like the following buildings. The UTEP Geological Science Building, Classroom Building, and some outside areas around the corners of the College of Engineering and the Classroom Building offer a more secluded and quiet space.
One of these places is located inside the Classroom Building on the second floor next to the Tech Cafe. These areas are nice and quiet where students can focus on their work. It is important that students are informed about these areas so they can concentrate on homework and get A’s.

Based on my experience studying here, I would have to disagree. For an R1 research university, the library is rather noisy. Despite the library’s claims to provide quiet areas, students continue to chat without consideration for or deference to anyone around them. During the day, the library is undergoing roof renovations, which makes it more difficult to study on the quiet floor. Because the library closes at 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and even shorter hours Friday-Sunday there is no room for prolonged study. People still converse in the other places you listed, so they aren’t always silent. Library closes early when there is a football game. So football has more importance than academics.
