The biggest and most energetic event of the school year is back to grace all students with Miner pride. Minerpalooza is back and better than ever with a change in location. This year, the celebration will take place on campus, stretching from the Fox Fine Arts Building to Leech Grove and Centennial Plaza.
The upgrade in size allows more vendors and community members to come and enjoy themselves within UTEP’s campus.
With various vendors, Minerpalooza goers can indulge in some retail therapy with the brand-new artisan market held in the Fox Fine Arts walkway.
“Battle of the Bands” will resume with all three performers Vampira, Beach Cowboy and Saving Bandit putting on performances after being cut short at Texas Western Gold Rush because of inclement weather.
Now there is something for people of all ages, including kids. Located at Leech Grove will be Pete’s Playground, an area designed for youth to engage in creative activities such as face painting, a magician performance and even jumping balloons.
Entertainment will be rolling all night with specials guests, Technotics, Jezzika Sax y Los Amores Prohibidos, Feline Fox and Raul Facio.
Tickets will be sold on-site with each ticket priced at one dollar.
Free event parking will be available at the Sun Bowl Parking Garage, Schuster Parking Garage and other lots detailed on the student affairs website.
Minerpalooza is open to the public and starts at 6 p.m.
