El Paso’s surrealist sculptor, Ho Baron, has been creating art since 1980. He’s made more than 100 cement and bronze sculptures throughout his life; with other pieces like doll-parts mobiles, smaller sculptures, and drawings of El Paso scenes fill Baron’s basement and backyard. His best sculptures are displayed in his own garden.
Baron was diagnosed with myeloma, a cancer that affects plasma cells in the blood. After the diagnosis, the artist decided to open up his garden for the public to view and appreciate his art. Baron’s Surreal Art Sculpture Garden is located on Aurora Avenue and Piedras Street.
