Blackboard has rolled out new functions and features Dec. 23 as it transitions to Blackboard Ultra. Students will have about a month to acquaint themselves with the software’s new interface just before the spring semester.
Logging in students can expect a new home page designed to make navigating easier. To start, students can now scroll the mouse to left side of the page to view sub-pages such as an institution page, your profile and activity stream.
The Activity Stream page will help students stay up to date with alerts, grades, due dates and other notifications for ongoing classes in one continuous simple stream, allowing them to scroll through.
The system will also show students their current enrolled classes at the top of a stream, allowing easy access to each course’s details.
For fans of the Blackboard application, the grades tab will display grades for past and current classes in a format like the way it has before.
Students who are curious about the new Blackboard update can log on and access previews by clicking on the banner just above announcements on the right-hand side of the website’s home page for more information and to watch tutorials on how use the newest features.
