El Paso Pro-Musica season will kick-off with American virtuoso pianist Bryan Wallick at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the UTEP Fox Fine Arts Recital Hall after a performance in Mesilla, New Mexico Oct. 21.
The gold medal recipient at the 1997 Vladimir Horowitz International Piano Competition will do a recital at UTEP including Baroque-themed works by Cesar Franck, Franz Liszt and Brahms, in addition to Samuel Barber’s Piano Sonata in E–flat minor. Vladimir Horowitz debuted Barber’s only piano sonata at Carnegie Hall in 1950, per request by the composer.
El Paso Pro-Musica has been bringing world-renowned classical artists to the border region since 1977.
