Senior running back QuardraizWadley suffered a season-ending toe injury with just less than a month before the 2019-2020 season kickoff for the UTEP football team. Wadley is expected to be out for four to six months after sustaining this injury during a football drill.
Wadley was set to have a major impact for the Miners this season after rushing for 627 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior. Wadley is expected to use a redshirt this season in order to play next season for the Miners.
Prior to the unfortunate injury Wadley had not only Miner fans looking for a big season from him, but the eyes of the college football world were set on the senior running running back. Wadley was named a preseason candidate for the Doak Walker Award which is awarded to the nations top running back.
“Quardraiz will head back to California this week to receive medical attention from one of the best doctors in the country. He will be out for this coming season, but he will have the opportunity to redshirt and come back for his senior season in 2020,” head coach Dana Dimel said in a press release.
