Freshman guard Lew Stallworth was not present during UTEP’s game tonight against North Texas. Head coach Tim Floyd announced after the game that Stallworth will not be with the team for the remainder of the 2014-15 season.
“Lew is not going to be with us the rest of the year,” Floyd said.
Although having a limited amount of minutes, the six-foot-one California native was part of the rotation coach Floyd used regularly. He has seen action in 19 of the Miners’ 29 games this season, making one start and averaging 4.1 minutes per game.
If Stallworth will be back with the team at all is uncertain because of what Floyd described as “distractions that I didn’t feel warranted being with this basketball team.”
