Provost and vice president for academic affairs for the University of Texas at El Paso, Junius J. Gonzales, will have a new job title effective January 28, 2015. Gonzales has been appointed as the senior vice president for academic affairs of all 17 campuses for the University of North Carolina.
The announcement was made Friday, Nov. 14 by UNC President Thomas W. Ross.
Gonzales, a tenured member of the UTEP faculty, was the principal investigator on grants that added up to nearly $5 million during the course of his time at the university.
