In Brief:
Four Miners named to All-American team: Junior distance runner Anthony Rotich was named to the NCAA track and field All-American team for the seventh time after winning his second national championship in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase. On the women’s side, three Miners made the All-American second team—senior Janice Jackson, junior Nickevea Wilson and junior Jallycia Pearson.
Three Miners Named to 2014 All-Conference USA Team by Athlon Sports: Junior kickoff returner Autrey Golden was named to the All-Conference first team, while senior tight end Eric Tomlinson and sophomore running back Aaron Jones were name to the All-Conference second team.
Each Miner led their position in their respective statistical categories. Golden, Tomlinson and Jones all set career highs last season for the Miners.
Four Miners Named to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-CUSA Team: Junior kickoff returner Autrey Golden was named to the All-Conference first team, sophomore running back Aaron Jones was named to the All-Conference second team, while senior tight end Eric Tomlinson and senior quarterback Jameill Showers were name to the All-Conference fourth team.
