In brief:
Grant to go towards 3-D printing: UTEP has received a grant to up the university’s 3-D printing efforts. The W.M. Keck Center for 3-D innovation will lead the collaboration between other universities and corporate partners funded by America Makes for a total of $2.2 million.
The team’s goal is to manufacture unmanned aerial vehicles and satellites and test them in harsh environments in air and space.
Dean recognized: The dean of the School of Nursing, Elias Provencio-Vasquez, is one of the recipients of the 2014 Outstanding Alumni Award from the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC).
